§ 46. Mr. Awberyasked the Minister of Health if he is aware that, in countries where statistics have been kept on the testing of high-altitude nuclear weapons 3W it is reported that the number of deformed births have increased from 0.5 per cent. to 1.41 per cent. and that radioactivity from these tests might have been the cause; and if he will make an investigation in this country on similar lines and make public the results.
§ Mr. PowellI have seen a statement to this effect reported to have been made by a Canadian doctor. As already announced, I am arranging for returns of children born with defective limbs to continue to be made.
