asked the Minister of Labour how many boys entered apprenticeships in Cardiff and Glamorgan, respectively, during the last 12 months; and how the percentages compare with the percentage of apprenticeships in England and Wales generally.

Mr. Whitelaw

734 boys, or 37.3 per cent., in Cardiff, and 2,036, or 24.2 per cent., in Glamorgan entered apprenticeships between November, 1961, and October, 1962. The percentage in England and Wales was 36.2 per cent.
