§ 43. Mr. Boxasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will invoke the anti-dumping regulations against the import of cut-price South African steel.
§ Mr. GreenImports from South Africa this year have represented only about 1 per cent. of British production of bars and rods and 0.8 per cent. of production of plates and sheet, and 0.35 per cent. of production of billets, the categories mainly involved. Last year there were virtually no imports. It would be open to the British industry to apply for antidumping action against imports if it could show that these were being dumped and caused or threatened material injury to the industry.
