HC Deb 19 November 1962 vol 667 c97W
Miss Bacon

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is aware of the number of children's homes which are not subject to inspection by his Department; and if he will introduce legislation to bring them under some measure of control or inspection.

Mr. Brooke

Children's homes which are not subject to inspection either by my Department or by some other public authority are rare, and I am not convinced that there is any real need to extend the present range of inspection; but if the hon. Member has any particular class of establishment in mind, I shall be glad to consider the matter again.
