HC Deb 14 November 1962 vol 667 cc47-8W
Mr. Dempsey

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland, if he will publish details showing the starting date for the new teacher training college to be erected at Hamilton, the number of student places to be provided, and the estimated date when it will be in operation.

Mr. Noble

The Scottish Council for the Training of Teachers expect that pre- liminary work on the site and on the playing fields will start early in 1963 and the building of the college in 1964. They are planning to provide places for 900 women students, and they hope that the college will come into operation in October, 1966.
