§ Mr. Masonasked the Postmaster-General if he will give an undertaking to consult the House on the question of 34W pay television before encouraging manufacturers of pay television equipment, and not to agree to a pilot scheme before the aproval of the House has been given.
§ Mr. BevinsThe White Paper on Broadcasting, paragraph 85, stated that the Government, for the present, reserved its decision on pay television. That is still the position, and I would ask the hon. Member to await the forthcoming White Paper.
