HC Deb 13 November 1962 vol 667 c26W
Dr. Bennett

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has yet discussed with the National Economic Development Council the steps it is proposed to take to ensure that adequate scientific advice is available to them on all appropriate matters which they have under consideration.

Mr. Maudling

Since my hon. Friend raised this matter last March, a scientist has been released from service with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research to work on the senior staff of the National Economic Development Office. I see no reason to suggest to the Council that further arrangements are necessary at this stage of its work.
