HC Deb 12 November 1962 vol 667 c7W
51. Mr. Pavitt

asked the Minister of Health how many manufacturers of proprietary drugs have been informed of quality deficiencies as a result of his Department's testing scheme during 1962.

Mr. Braine

None; this is not the purpose of the scheme.

57. Sir B. Janner

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that the drug podophyllum could have the same effect as thalidomide if taken by pregnant women; and what steps he is taking to warn doctors and the public of the dangers of its use under these circumstances.

Mr. Powell

I am not so advised.
