HC Deb 05 November 1962 vol 666 cc30-1W
79. Mr. K. Robinson

asked the Minister of Health if he is satisfied that current criteria governing experiments on human beings in connection with medical research offer adequate safeguards for the public, and that they are being generally observed within the National Health Service; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Powell

I have no reason to suppose that the guidance given in January, 1959, is not being generally observed. I understand that the Medical Research Council is considering whether further guidance is needed.
