HC Deb 05 November 1962 vol 666 c32W
Mr. Mason

asked the Minister of Defence if he will make a statement on his decision to stop production and cancel military orders of the Blue Water missile; and if, in view of the many setbacks the aviation industry has suffered through unforseeable cancellations of military contracts, he will make Her Majesty's Government's defence needs more clearly known, with a view to avoiding sudden high degrees of redundancy and unemployment in this industry.

Mr. Thorneycroft

On Blue Water I have nothing to add to the statement made by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Aviation as recently as 25th October.

I share the views of the hon. Member as expressed in the second half of his Question, and will do my best to make our defence needs clear.
