HC Deb 05 November 1962 vol 666 cc25-6W
71. Mr. Channon

asked the Minister of Aviation what steps he is taking to deal with the problem of airport noise.

Mr. Amery

We are carrying out a programme of research into ways of reducing the noise of jet engines. At Heathrow, where the problem is so far most acute, there is control of the use of jet aircraft in the air and on the ground. Special operating procedures have also been worked out in co-operation with the airlines. We are always willing to help with advice at other airports.
