§ 62. Mr. Russellasked the Minister of Transport when signals to guide pedestrians will be installed at road junctions in streets in which one-way working has been introduced in recent months.
§ Mr. HayThe traffic signals in the Marquis of Granby scheme are already equipped with "Wait" and "Cross Now" signs for pedestrians. In the Tottenham Court Road-Gower Street scheme, some junctions are already equipped, and equipment for others has been ordered.
The other one-way schemes introduced in recent months are still experimental. Some include a number of "Wait" and "Cross Now" signs. If after review these schemes are retained, we shall have more provided.
