§ Mr. Denzil FreethBetween 1st January, 1960, and 31st December, 1961, D.S.I.R. received 1,059 applications for research grants of under £100,000, and 11 of £100,000 or over. The proportions of these which came from Scotland were 8.7 per cent. and 18.2 per cent. respectively.
