§ Mr. Prenticeasked the Minister of Labour whether he is now in a position to announce his conclusions, resulting from the study which has been carried out in his Department, of the differential training levy imposed on industrial firms in France, and the possibility of introducing a similar levy in this country to stimulate industrial training and to spread its costs more equitably.
§ Mr. Hare:My studies of the French scheme make it clear that it depends for 6W its success, among other things, on the substantially different arrangements for industrial training and taxation there and I am not proposing, in present circumstances, to take these studies further.
