§ Commander Purseyasked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty if he will state the number of beds for sick officers and ratings, respectively, in the Royal Naval Hospital, Haslar, the average daily number occupied in the last financial year, the number of medical and nursing staff, respectively, and the total cost, including maintenance, for the year.
§ Mr. C. Ian Orr-EwingThe number of beds provided for officers is 59 and for ratings 481. The average daily number of patients (including N.H.S. patients) during 1961–62 was 456. Excluding those under training there were 30 medical officers and 308 nursing staff including sick berth ratings at Haslar.
The total cost of the hospital for the whole of the last financial year is not yet available, but for the first six months it was £482,600. The figures for the second half of the year are expected to be about the same.
