HC Deb 09 May 1962 vol 659 c45W
57. Mr. Russell

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that confusion is sometimes caused to motorists when they turn right from a one-way street into a two-way street, especially if they are strangers and there is no indication that the street they are entering is a two-way; and if he will devise some means, such as by arrows painted on the road, to warn them to keep to the left-hand side of the street.

Mr. Marples

A traffic sign is already presribed for use as a warning to drivers in a one-way street that they are entering a two-way street. I am not aware that there is much confusion on this point, but if my hon. Friend will give me particulars of any junction where difficulties do arise, I will be glad to have an investigation made.
