§ Mr. SandysSince 1st April, 1957, Her Majesty's Government have made available to Tanganyika in grants and loans, including money entrusted to the Colonial Development Corporation for investment there, a total of £18,014,000. Details of the total economic aid promised to Tanganyika in connection with her achievement of independence were given by my right hon. Friend, the then Colonial Secretary, in a statement to the House, on 4th August, 1961.
