§ 90. Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations whether he will make a statement about the conversion of Marlborough House for the Commonwealth Economic Consultative Council and other Commonwealth purposes.
§ Mr. SandysAs announced by the Prime Minister on 17th February, 1959, Her Majesty the Queen has generously placed Marlborough House at the disposal of the British Government as a centre for meetings of representatives of Commonwealth Governments. Office accommodation has been provided for the Commonwealth Economic Committee, the Commonwealth Education Liaison Unit and the Association of 63W Universities of the British Commonwealth. The work of adapting and modernising the building is now nearly completed and Her Majesty will pay a visit on 28th March. After that date Marlborough House will be available for meetings.
