§ Mr. Godman Irvineasked the President of the Board of Trade whether the price at which sulphate of ammonia is exported to Eire was a factor taken into consideration when deciding to increase the duty on imported sulphate of ammonia.
§ Mr. ErrollThe protective duty on sulphate of ammonia has not been increased. An anti-dumping duty was imposed on 3rd March on sulphate of ammonia from the Soviet zone of Germany because I was satisfied that dumped imports from this source threatened material injury to the British industry. In reaching this conclusion I took account of all the relevant factors, including the British producers' costs of production and profits and, in relation, to these the general level of their export prices.
