HC Deb 15 March 1962 vol 655 c184W
Captain Kerby

asked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty if the Norwegian Terne anti-submarine weapon has been evaluated by the Royal Navy; and if he will consider fitting this weapon in place of depth charges in small naval craft such as seaward defence boats.

Mr. C. Ian Orr-Ewing

The Terne has been demonstrated to the Royal Navy by a ship of the Royal Norwegian Navy, and information about its performance is being studied. Consideration will be given to fitting it in appropriate ships of the Royal Navy.
