HC Deb 15 March 1962 vol 655 cc183-4W
83. Mr. D. Foot

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will give the estimated cost of paying to Polish ex-regular soldiers, who fought in the Second World War and have since elected to remain in this country, military pensions on the same basis as those paid to British ex-soldiers.

Mr. Profumo

None of the Polish ex-soldiers resident in this country has the service needed to qualify for a Service pension under the conditions which apply to British ex-soldiers. I cannot estimate the cost of awarding pensions based on service with the former Polish Government, because I have not complete records of that service.
