HC Deb 14 March 1962 vol 655 c160W
42. Mr. Wolrige-Gordon

asked the Parliamentary Secretary for Science, whether he is aware of the need to establish a meat research centre in Scotland, in order to investigate the development of quality beef; and what action he is taking in this respect.

Mr. Denzil Freeth

It is proposed to set up a single meat research centre for the whole of the United Kingdom. This will eventually be concerned with all types of meat. In selecting the site for it, the Agricultural Research Council will take all relevant considerations into account. The choice will probably be made soon.
