Hurdasked the Minister of Transport if he has now reached a decision on the proposal made by the Tilehurst Parish Council and the Berkshire County Council last August, that in the interests of road safety a double white line should be painted on the Bath Road (A.4) between the Reading borough boundary and Theale.
§ Mr. MarplesThis is one of the three-lane roads I am considering for trials in the use of off-set double white line markings, giving two lanes for traffic in one direction and one lane in the other direction. I will write to my hon. Friend as soon as we have decided whether this particular road should be included in the trials.
