§ Commander Purseyasked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty if he will state the total number of boys being educated at the Royal Hospital School, Holbrook, Suffolk, the number who are the sons of officers and ratings, respectively, and the number of each class who have lost both parents, one parent, or have both parents living, respectively.

46Wyears' service vary according to the Pension Codes under which the awards were originally made and the Pensions (Increase) Schemes under which the men qualify for increases.
The standard pensions for the chief petty officer of 22 years' service under the 1959 and 1962 Codes are £4 0s. 8d. and £4 8s. 0d. per week respectively. The earlier pension codes, however, are made up of elements for total service and for length of service in each rating. Awards vary considerably between man and man and it is not possible to quote a standard rate.
