HC Deb 04 June 1962 vol 661 cc27-8W
Mr. Currie

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the cruelty inflicted by the forcible cramming of geese, he will prohibit the import of pâté-de-foie-gras into this country from France.

Mr. Erroll

No. It would not be appropriate to use the powers conferred on the Board of Trade under the Import, Export and Customs Powers (Defence) Act, 1939, for this purpose.
