§ Mr. BrookeThe salaries for male officers are, in London, £930 and £845 respectively, and £910 and £805 elsewhere. The constable receives a house or quarters free of rent and rates or a 87W tax-free allowance in lieu; and a boot allowance of 3s. a week. The probation officer receives no allowances.
