§ 53. Mr. Awberyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware of the expense incurred by blind people on the 83W maintenance of guide dogs; and if he will take steps to relieve them of this burden by granting them relief of Income Tax to the amount they spend.
§ Mr. du CannI would refer the hon. Member to Clause 9 of the Finance Bill, which makes a special allowance of up to £100 available to registered blind persons, subject to conditions. Where this allowance is due it will help the blind person to meet special expenses falling on him such as the cost of keeping a guide dog.
