§ Mr. Owenasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what further representations he has received concerning the implementation of the Morison Committee's recommendations on the salary of the Probation Service; whether he has yet received a report from the Joint Negotiating Committee; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. BrookeA number of representations have been received, principally from individual probation officers, but no further communication has been received from the Joint Negotiating Committee since they recommended an immediate salary increase of 10 per cent. In reply to the last part of the Question, I would refer the hon. Member to the speech of my hon, and learned Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the debate on the Adjournment on Monday last.
