§ Mr. Jayasked the President of the Board of Trade on what proportion of United Kingdom imports duties would 23W have to be raised, and on what proportion they would have to be lowered, if the United Kingdom were to join the European Economic Community on the basis of the existing Common External Tariff.
§ Mr. ErrollThe proportions would depend upon the treatment of imports from the Commonwealth and upon other factors which are still the subject of negotiation in Brussels. They cannot therefore be calculated at present.
