§ Mr. MarplesUnder my rolling programme for classified roads, highway authorities are notified three years in advance of the year in which I am prepared to accept a scheme for grant. This gives them adequate time to acquire the land and prepare the engineering details. It should therefore normally be possible for work to start within a few months of authorisation of grant.
