§ 3. Mr. Ridleyasked the Minister of Labour what is the number of employees who have registered with his Department after leaving the Whitworth Gloster factory at Brockworth; what notification he has had of the number still to leave; and what is the unemployment rate in the area.
§ Mr. GreenBy 22nd June, 832 former employees of the company had registered for employment with the Department and 127 of these were still registered as unemployed. A further 1,100 employees are expected to leave the factory by the end of the year. The unemployment rate in the Gloucester-Cheltenham area at 18th June was 1.7 per cent.
