§ Sir D. EcclesThe system of analysing statistics of teacher entry has been changed and results are not available in the form given to the hon. Member on previous occasions. The 1961–62 figures, on the new basis, will be available in November or December. The difference between the old and the new form of analysis. and the reasons for the change in method, are explained in paragraphs 42 and 43 of the Seventh Report of the National Advisory Council on the Training and Supply of Teachers "The Demand and Supply of Teachers 1960–80", of which a copy is in the library of the House.
