HC Deb 04 July 1962 vol 662 cc67-8W
Sir Richard Glyn

asked the Secretary of State for Air when the Fylingdales early warning radar system was originally expected to be completed; when it is now expected to be completed; and how many strikes and other interruptions of work there have been since the work was started.

Mr. Amery

In spite of delays resulting from bad weather and labour disputes we still expect the station to become operational next year, as originally planned. Since the work began there have been 62 strikes and stoppages Which have lasted for one full day or more.
