45. Mr. Hale

asked the Minister of Labour what is the number of persons registered on the Disabled Persons Register of the Oldham and Failsworth employment area who were totally unemployed at the most recent available date; and what percentage of these have been unemployed for a period exceeding 12 weeks.

Mr. Hare

On 18th June, 276 registered disabled persons were unemployed, of whom 177, or some 64 per cent., had been unemployed for more than twelve weeks. The hon. Gentleman would like to know that in the last twelve months my disablement resettlement have found jobs in ordinary industry for 190 unemployed disabled persons, and will continue to make every effort to find work for those still unemployed.

46. Mr. Hale

asked the Minister of Labour what is the number of disabled persons now in full time employment by Remploy Limited of Oldham; and whether he will now make a statement on plans for providing in Oldham additional employment for disabled persons disqualified from normal industrial work.

Mr. Hare:

Fifty-five. There are no plans for expanding Remploy's facilities in Oldham.
