§ Mr. GreenI understand that between January and November, 1961, some 700 jobs arose in Fife from projects for which an Industrial Development Certificate had been issued; there are about 1,500 jobs in prospect, most of which should materialise this year. The National Coal Board expects that 140 jobs will be lost in 1962. In the following four years 3,000 men will be displaced from collieries where coal reserves will have been exhausted, and a substantial number of men may be affected by the closure of other pits.
