§ 42. Mr. Awberyasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is aware that prostitution is on the increase in a number of port areas, and that many girls who have been driven off the streets by the Street Offences Act, 1959, now move to the docks where the Act does not operate and where they can only be charged with a comparatively minor offence; and if he will introduce legislation extending to dock regions the provisions of the Street Offences Act.
§ Mr. Fletcher-CookeMy right hon. Friend has no evidence of such a problem in dock areas, but he will be glad to consider, in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport, any information that the hon. Member may care to send him.
