§ 27. Mr. John Hallasked the President of the Board of Trade if, in view of the statement by the Maritime Commission of Canada that if the Government of British Columbia placed an order for maritime engines with the British firm submitting the lowest tender rather than with a Canadian firm it would risk the loss of a 40 per cent. subsidy, he will in the interests of British trade draw the attention of the Federal Government of Canada to the fact that such an action is contrary to that Government's stated policy of encouraging trade with Great Britain.
