§ 81. Mr. Sorensenasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether, in respect of the future of education in the geographical county of Essex, he has consulted the Minister of Education and has ascertained through him the considered views of both education committees and also educational professional organisations on the most desirable future pattern of education administration for the county within his proposals for Greater London local government reorganisation, particularly with regard to the service of technical and other colleges to both urban and rural parts of the present county.
Dr. HillThe general pattern of administration proposed for education, as for other local services, was indicated in the White Paper on London Government (Cmnd. 1562). I have no doubt that my right hon. Friend the Minister of Education, with whom I am in close touch on all these matters, will carefully consider any views put forward by educational and professional bodies about the detailed implementation of these proposals.
