HC Deb 26 February 1962 vol 654 c108W
Mr. J. Wells

asked the President of the Board of Trade for how long antidumping duties will continue to be imposed on imports of butter from the Republic of Ireland.

Mr. Erroll

Following discussion with the Government of the Republic of Ireland I have decided to withdraw the anti-dumping duty on the understanding that exports of Irish butter to the United Kingdom between now and the end of March will not exceed 2,400 tons which is the balance of the quantity to which the Government of the Republic of Ireland were asked to limit exports during the six months ending 31st March. The duty will be withdrawn with effect from 28th February.
