§ Mr. Hornbyasked the Secretary for Technical Co-operation whether he will arrange for a repetition this year of the Nigeria Teacher Vacation Course held last year.
§ Mr. VosperYes. The Nigerian Governments have asked Her Majesty's Government to arrange this year for a course similar to, but on a larger scale than, that arranged on their behalf last year. They have been told that we shall be glad to do this, and arrangements have been made accordingly in co-operation with the British Council, the Ministry of Education, the Scottish Education Department and the Ministry of Education, Northern Ireland. The course will take place in July and August, and advertisements will appear in the Press this weekend inviting teachers to apply to take part. I am glad that the United Kingdom is able to help in this way with this important aspect of educational development in Nigeria. I hope that British teachers will come forward in good number and that this year's project will be as successful as last year's.
