Mr. Snowasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether a planning application has yet been received by his Department for the erection of a tanker terminal and chemical plant for crude and refined oil at Tollesbury, Essex; what is his policy, in holding public inquiries on such proposals, regarding the tendering of evidence by witnesses from his Department concerning potential alternative sites in similar areas; and whether, in this connection, he will examine the proceedings of the inquiry held in connection with the atomic power station at Bradwell.
§ Mr. RipponNo such application has been received. In any event it would not be appropriate for the Ministry to tender evidence on alternative sites at any inquiry into such a proposal.
