83. Mr. A. Lewis

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what new proposals he has for assisting housing authorities with large housing lists, caused by overcrowding and slum clearance, to overcome their rehousing problems; and whether these proposals include larger subsidies and borrowing powers at nominal rates of interest.

Dr. Hill

The recent Housing Act provides more financial assistance for those authorities in most need of it, and I do not consider that further financial help is needed.
