HC Deb 19 February 1962 vol 654 c12W
62. Commander Pursey

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will state the number of wharves on the River Hull which were reported to his Department and the Hull and East Yorkshire River Board as being below flood level after the serious flooding in March, 1961, and which have not yet been raised to flood prevention level.

Mr. Vane

Of the sixty-four wharves which were below the levels prescribed by the Kingston-upon-Hull Corporation Act, 1925, work has been completed on thirty-three and is in progress on fourteen. Work has not yet started on seventeen wharves and the Corporation is taking this up with the wharf owners concerned.
