51. Mr. G. Thomas

asked the Minister of Health what deductions from wages are made for food taken at hospitals in Cardiff by doctors, nurses and domestic staff, respectively; how these deductions compare with those made in other regions; and whether he will make a statement on his policy with regard to such deductions.

Mr. Powell

All these deductions are fixed by National Whitley agreement, except that charges for non-resident doctors' meals are fixed locally. I have no detailed information about these.
