HC Deb 15 February 1962 vol 653 c182W
Mr. Hale

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what modifications he has made to his annual statistics on crime and misdemeanours to take into account the number of new offences which have been created by Parliament in the last 12 months.

Mr. R. A. Butler

Several changes, to take account of new legislation, have been made in the sub-classifications of offences, but these are not shown separately in the volumes of Criminal Statistics presented to Parliament annually. The only change that will be apparent in the annual volumes is the substitution of the offence of aiding and abetting suicide, under Section 2 (1) of the Suicide Act, 1961, for the former offence of attempted suicide.
