§ Mr. P. Wellsasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs if he will propose an enlargement of the Thames Flood Barrier Committee so as to include two engineers from local authorities whose interests are likely to be adversely affected.
Dr. HillNo. This is a small Committee set up to guide further work by the consulting engineers for the barrier project on certain technical problems and is adequately representative for this limited task. Local authorities and others whose interests are likely to be affected will be consulted before any decision is taken to construct a Thames flood barrier.
