4. Mr. Burden

asked the Minister of Transport what was the original target date for the completion of road improvements to Hyde Park Corner, north-south Hyde Park carriageway, and Marble Arch; and when they are now expected to be completed.

Mr. Marples

The contract date for the whole scheme is September this year and the works are expected to be completed by then. There are no target dates for the separate sections of the scheme which are brought into use as soon as they are ready.
