§ 72. Sir D. Walker-Smithasked the Lord Privy Seal to what extent the negotiations in which Her Majesty's Government are currently engaged following on their application for membership of the European Economic Community include in their scope the future provisions concerning association of non-European countries to be determined under Article 136 of the Treaty of Rome for the further period following on the expiry of the current period covered by the implementing Convention made thereunder.
§ Mr. HeathI have nothing to add to what I said on this subject in paragraph 35 of my statement to the European Economic Community on 10th October.
§ 73. Sir D. Walker-Smithasked the Lord Privy Seal whether Her Majesty's Government have yet been consulted in regard to the effect of the deliberations of the Fouchet Commission in the context of the United Kingdom's application to join the European Economic Community.
§ Mr. HeathThe member Governments of the European Economic Community have kept us fully and continuously informed of the deliberations of the Fouchet Commission. They recognise the need to hold collective discussions on this subject with us as soon as they have reached a measure of agreement among themselves. They are well aware of the implications of the 159W work of the Fouchet Commission on the United Kingdom's application to join the European Economic Community.
