asked the Minister of Works what economic steps he proposes to take to promote the further growth in output of the construction industry.

The policy of Her Majesty's Government is to promote a steady rate of economic growth in the construction industries. When some restraint of demand was required last summer care was taken to avoid any violent dislocation of work. The Government are satisfied that this policy has won the confidence of the construction industries.
