§ Mr. Grimondasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the disparity between the earnings of university teachers and public servants on the one hand and those of people employed 266W in industry and members of the National Incomes Commission on the other, and of the fact that the Chairman of the National Incomes Commission is to receive a higher income than himself, he will order a general review of professional and public service remuneration.
§ Mr. MaudlingNo. I do not think that a general review of this sort would be useful, even if it were within the terms of reference of the National Incomes Commission as set out in Cmnd. 1844.
